The interface adapter RS-COM enables the connection of a PC to iSolar Plus controller with V Bus. Service Center Software allows the measured data to be recorded numerically in a log-data file. The adapter does not need an external power supply. Includes RS232 cable.

The new Steca TR 0502 solar thermal controller closes the gap between the already successful Steca TR 0301, TR 0301sc and TR 0603 temperature difference controllers.

With its animated graphic display and elegant design, it continues the success enjoyed by this family of controllers. This controller provides everything to operate your solar thermal system safely over a long service life. The Steca TR 0502 controller monitors and controls solar thermal systems with up to two differently oriented collector arrays and a maximum of two domestic hot water or buffer storage tanks. The large graphic display shows the animated control circuits, which allows you to view the operating statuses of each system. The clearly arranged display ensures easy operation using pictograms. Pre-programmed systems enable universal usage. The Steca TR 0502 controller has five inputs for recording temperatures or pulse values, as well as two outputs (one is speed-controlled) for controlling pumps or switching valves.

The Steca Suntana solar thermal controller is another member of our solar thermal controller family. The controller monitors and controls solar thermal systems with one collector array, one storage tank and alternatively with an appropriate back-up heating or circulation pump.

Apart from controlling the solar energy system, the controller also performs important system monitoring and safety functions. The system parameters and measured values can be viewed and modified via a 2 x 16-digit LCD display. The amount of solar energy fed from the collector array into the storage tank can be read from the LCD display at any time, thanks to a volumetric flow meter with pulse output. The controller has a maximum of five inputs for temperature measurement, a digital pulse input for recording heat quantity, and two outputs for controlling pumps. A programmable timer with selectable switching times for controlling a solar circuit pump is integrated into the controller. Installation mistakes are avoided from the very beginning through the automatic recognition of the temperature sensors. The components delivered with the controller include one collector temperature sensor and two storage tank sensors.

Our STR 1 includes everything that is needed for a thermal solar system. Apart from the controller for temperature differences an electronically controlled limitation of the storing temperature has been built in. Of course, it is possible to adjust hysteresis, temperature difference and max. storing temperature individually. By using the hand-gear control you can adjust the pump for testing or other operations. A display indicating the temperature informs you about the collector temperature to be stored. Another very important point was the breakdown safety switch which does not lower your solar system’s performance since it is very low in self-consumption. The regulator is supplied including a collector temperature sensor and a storage temperature sensor in the lower storage tank area for limiting the maximum storage temperature.

Immersion sensors allow temperature recording in liquid and gaseous media and are designed for installation in existing or on-site immersion sleeves. The standard measurement unit contains a Pt1000 temperature sensor, according to DIN EN 60 751, class B, in a two-core connection.

The Steca TA OP1 overvoltage protection unit is a connection socket in a splash-proof IP65 protective case and serves to protect the collector sensor against local lightning strikes and externally induced voltage spikes.

 A varistor protective diode protects against atmospheric overvoltages that can lead to the destruction of the collector sensor. The use of the Steca TA OP1 is generally recommended for extra protection of the collector sensor in any type of solar thermal system. In addition, the simple operation of the spring terminals allows rapid and simple installation of the collector sensors using a sensor extension cable.

The iSolar™ BX is a multi-functional temperature differential controller with add-on system functions for use in a wide variety of solar thermal heating applications. iSolar™ BX is equipped with four relay outputs; three triac pump speed control relays and one standard relay. These outputs include two pulse width modulation (PWM) outputs that enable energy conservation measures for high-effi ciency direct current (DC) pumps. The controller is equipped with fi ve Pt1000 sensor inputs, two analog Grundfos sensor inputs, and one impulse fl ow meter input. Twenty six system confi guration options are predefi ned for control of a standard solar water heating system, drainback systems, supplemental space heating, multiple storage tanks, heat dump and storage tank booster heating.

The iSolar™ 257 series are multi—functional temperature differential controllers that provide complete control of the solar thermal system for safe and long—lasting operation. The microprocessor based controller monitors and controls thermal solar systems by means of a collector sensor and a storage tank sensor. The controllers also perform important system monitoring and safety functions. The system parameters and measured values can be changed and viewed on the large LCD display. The controller is equipped for up to four temperature sensor inputs and one or two 120 VAC outputs (some models) for activating the solar circuit pump and second 120 VAC output for activating a valve or second pump. The controller is additionally equipped with VBus® for two-way communication between modules, PC’s or data loggers.
