The thermostatic mixer is used in systems producing domestic hot water or in radiant panel heating systems. Its function is to maintain the temperature of the mixed water supplied to the user constant at the set value when there are variations in the supply conditions of the incoming hot and cold water.

In heating and air conditioning control systems, the circulation of water containing impurities may result in rapid wear and damage to components such as pumps and control valves. It also causes blockages in heat exchangers, heating elements and pipes, resulting in lower thermal efficiency within the system. The dirt separator separates off these impurities, which are mainly made up of particles of sand and rust, collecting them in a large collection chamber, from which they can be removed even while the system is in operation. The Grundfos model utilizes a two-pole, single phase motor at 1/6 (0.16) HP and produces a flow range of 0-19 GPM and a head range of 0-38 ft. The Grundfos UP26-120 U circulator pump functions at 115V, 2.15 Amp, and 60Hz, and has a maximum pressure of 145 PSI. The optimal water temperature for this Grundfos circulator pump model is within the 32-203 F range.

Johnson Controls A19 Series temperature controls are designed to cover a broad range of uses for heating and general purpose requirements. Controls have SPST contacts which open on temperature increase or they may be supplied in single-pole, double-throw contact action. Various control ranges are available to cover working temperatures from -30 to 550° F (-34 to 288° C). Closed tank fittings and bulb wells are available for immersion applications. These controls are designed for open low and open high applications. Where critical or high value products are to be maintained within a specific temperature differential, a single control should not be applied to function as both an open low and open high control. In these applications, a separate backup control with alarm contacts should be wired to indicate when the back-up control operates.

Air separators are used to continuously remove the air contained in the
hydronic circuits of heating and cooling systems. The air discharge
capacity of these devices is very high. They are capable of removing
automatically all the air present in the system down to micro-bubble level.
The circulation of fully de-aerated water enables the equipment to operate
under optimum conditions, free from any noise, corrosion, localized
overheating or mechanical damage. Micro-bubbles, fuse together,
increase in volume until they become large enough to rise to the top where
they are automatically released.
