Steca Overvoltage Protection UnitThe Steca TA OP1 overvoltage protection unit is a connection socket in a splash-proof IP65 protective case and serves to protect the collector sensor against local lightning strikes and externally induced voltage spikes.
A varistor protective diode protects against atmospheric overvoltages that can lead to the destruction of the collector sensor. The use of the Steca TA OP1 is generally recommended for extra protection of the collector sensor in any type of solar thermal system. In addition, the simple operation of the spring terminals allows rapid and simple installation of the collector sensors using a sensor extension cable.

Steca STR1 Temperature Difference RegulatorOur STR 1 includes everything that is needed for a thermal solar system. Apart from the controller for temperature differences an electronically controlled limitation of the storing temperature has been built in. Of course, it is possible to adjust hysteresis, temperature difference and max. storing temperature individually. By using the hand-gear control you can adjust the pump for testing or other operations. A display indicating the temperature informs you about the collector temperature to be stored. Another very important point was the breakdown safety switch which does not lower your solar system’s performance since it is very low in self-consumption. The regulator is supplied including a collector temperature sensor and a storage temperature sensor in the lower storage tank area for limiting the maximum storage temperature.

Steca Suntana Solar Thermal Controller
Steca Suntana Solar Thermal ControllerThe Steca Suntana solar thermal controller is another member of our solar thermal controller family. The controller monitors and controls solar thermal systems with one collector array, one storage tank and alternatively with an appropriate back-up heating or circulation pump.
Apart from controlling the solar energy system, the controller also performs important system monitoring and safety functions. The system parameters and measured values can be viewed and modified via a 2 x 16-digit LCD display. The amount of solar energy fed from the collector array into the storage tank can be read from the LCD display at any time, thanks to a volumetric flow meter with pulse output. The controller has a maximum of five inputs for temperature measurement, a digital pulse input for recording heat quantity, and two outputs for controlling pumps. A programmable timer with selectable switching times for controlling a solar circuit pump is integrated into the controller. Installation mistakes are avoided from the very beginning through the automatic recognition of the temperature sensors. The components delivered with the controller include one collector temperature sensor and two storage tank sensors.
